Review: Couple Counselling 101 with Lottie and Fi, for HACP, on 12 April 2025

Short review & feedback from Couples Counselling 101 day

Review

Fi and Lottie offered such an instructive and collaborative day around their work with couples, to such an extent some of those present were thinking quite seriously about the possibility of also training with them in this modality. Their workshop was experienced as fascinating and empowering and the feedback below confirms this very clearly. Their presentational styles dovetailed easily and included not only the factual and grounding elements of such work but also the humour and respect they shared with each other and the audience. It was such a successful day workshop for our attendees, our trainers and especially for HACP and its work with our members and non-members alike. There were 20 attendees, a couple completely new to HACP who then joined as members. We send a huge ‘thank you’ to Lottie and Fi for yet another very successful day training event.

Feedback (from forms on the day)

  1. Overall – your experience of the day? (Excellent, Good, Average, Fair or Poor)

    13 x Excellent, 3 x Good

  1. What did you like about the day?

Fun, lots of ideas. Shadow side. Delivery was lovely between you. The valuable suggestions and techniques. The description of how working with couples works. The demonstration was informative. Lottie’s direct approach in therapy is refreshing. Depth of information and experience. Rhythm & delivery of training, lots of information. The huge amount of information plus friendly atmosphere of the day. A lot of helpful information, techniques shared. Interaction & openness. Good references to books, models & tools. Nice energy. Good amount of time. Packed with info, warm/friendly approach. Liked the directness of the presentation. The dynamic between Lottie & Fi. The assessment technique and roleplay & all the information. Ways to improve communication and listening. Plenty of powerful ideas, how to work with two people in the room. The day was so stimulating, great sharing and high level input from Fi & Lottie. Learned a great deal about significant elements of couple work. Breadth of content and its applicability to client work. Clarity of presentation and warmth of both Lottie and Fi. Shadow work content. Informal, informative, inspiring for future endeavours. Varied topics, good.

  1. What did you not like so much?

I found it a struggle to hear Lottie during the demonstration – more something I should have been aware of when deciding where to sit perhaps. All good. Chairs. The shadow part didn’t seem to apply to Couples Work? Too short. Nothing. Shadow work – would have preferred to have more on couple work rather than self-work. It would have been nice to do the group introduction in the first part of the day, even if quietly. Speed was sometimes fast, but appreciate this was necessary. Everything was good. Tech troubles. The chairs, my fault for not bringing a cushion though. Pace fast, but lots covered – I would like script before to help note things.

  1. Is there anything else you’d like to share with us/the facilitator(s)?

Would like more of the shadow side, but maybe a separate module or I do my own! Continue the amazing work! No. Just to say thank you for an excellent training day. Thank you very much for making this very accessible and good value for money. Lower cost options. No, thank you. Just would have liked it to go on for longer. The presentation was good. A good depth of knowledge and experience of the work itself and its background. No. A valuable timely session, creating opportunities for future work.
