Who can join?

Application for individual membership of HACP is open to any person over the age of 18 years who is a counsellor or psychotherapist or uses counselling skills or is undergoing counselling training (or to whom these qualifications have previously applied).

How to Apply

The HACP membership year runs from March to February. The membership fee entitles members to be included in the directory (subject to their qualifications). In order to become a member of HACP, please download and fill in the application form and post it, with your cheque for £25 (full year) or £15 for 7 months (1st August – end of February) made payable to HACP to:

Once you have joined

Once you have become a member you may wish to advertise your practice in our online directory. If so please download the form, fill it in and email it to info@hacp.co.uk.

The online directory has been set up to help the public to find a counsellor or psychotherapist. Only appropriately qualified members of HACP can apply to be in the directory.

To be successful you will need to have a counselling or psychotherapy qualification acceptable to HACP. You will abide by the code of ethics set out by your regulatory body (eg BACP, NCS or UKCP). You will need to give HACP the name and contact information of your supervisor.

For new applicants, copies of qualifications will need to be sent to the administrator for checking. Existing directory members only need to send photocopies of new qualifications when obtained to the administrator.

If you are an existing directory member and would like to update your directory page, please click here to be taken to the Update Your Details page. Access your page by entering your email address and your password issued by the HACP administrator. Click on the save button at the bottom of the page when you have finished.
