The morning session: The first meeting – first impressions and assessment.
‘How to invite a couple into therapy and establish the right relational energy which enables engagement with you, as a therapist, plus engagement with each other? Therapists will receive instruction and clarity in how to make a strong first impression with a couple and to conduct an assessment. There will be opportunities to observe the experience of other practitioners and to put new ideas in to practice yourselves. The day will provide a co-facilitated supervision experience – so feel free to bring your couple dilemmas.
The afternoon session: Sex and Tantra.
This workshop will generate greater understanding for both therapists and clients, building confidence in how to talk about intimacy and sex in the therapy room. We do not intend to go into depth, just give you a flavour. We will also invite you to explore the sacred world of tantra and the secrets this energetic practice holds to enhance intimacy and sexual healing. We will discuss the use of appropriate sexual language, including topics that enable you to be more aware of your own bias, prejudice and/or discomfort.
