Rae Hurst
Laughter Yoga Session
Laughter yoga is a practice that combines laughter exercises, breath work, and mindfulness. Research has found that laughter yoga can reduce stress, anxiety and depression and improve quality of sleep.
This 2-hour, predominantly experiential, session will cover:
- The history and development of laughter yoga
- The benefits of laughter yoga
- Exercises and activities to provide an experience of laughter yoga
The experiential part includes breath work, movement and imagination. Participants are invited to bring an open mind and a willingness to get involved. The session ends with a relaxation exercise.
Please wear comfortable clothing that you can move freely in and a bottle of water. Please also bring a blanket or mat to lie on for the relaxation exercise (although if the floor is not your thing then it’s fine to stay on a chair).
